What is in the app
Reading and Listening are marked the way the real test marks them. Writing gets feedback rather than a band. Speaking is not there yet, and this page says so.
| Skill | Practice | Full test | How it is scored |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading | Every question type, from True/False/Not Given to matching headings, for Academic and General Training | Timed at 60 minutes, and a dropped connection resumes the same test | Marked on submit and converted to a band on the official table for your test type |
| Listening | Replay the recording as often as you like and read the transcript after you submit | Four full four-part tests; the recording plays once, as on test day | Marked on submit and converted to a band on the Listening table |
| Writing | Drills that mark your vocabulary and grammar and quote your own sentences back | Task 1 and Task 2 with written feedback on each criterion | Feedback, never a band. A machine-generated Writing band is not stable enough to trust, so the app does not give one |
| Speaking | Planned. Not in the app yet | Not yet | Not yet |
What the free account includes
Enough to sit a real mock and practise every day. A paid pass removes the daily limit and adds the rest of the explanations, Writing feedback and analytics.
| Feature | Free account | Paid pass |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Drill | Included, and you can try it before you have an account | Included |
| Reading and Listening practice | Five questions and one exercise a day | Unlimited |
| Full mock tests | One | Included; the number depends on the pass |
| Answers and explanations | The correct answer to everything, and the explanation for the first question of each set | Every explanation |
| Writing feedback | Not included | Included, with a daily limit |
| Progress analytics | Not included | Band trend, weak spots and mock history |
A paid pass runs for two, eight or sixteen weeks and then stops. It is not a subscription. Prices are shown inside the app, and nothing in signup or setup asks for a card.
How it works
Try the Starter Drill
It runs from the app's front page with no account. Submit it and you see your score straight away; the explanations unlock once you sign up.
Create a free account
Email and password, or Google, plus your first name. You choose Academic or General Training and, if you have one, your test date. No card, and nothing in setup asks you to pay. Your Starter Drill result comes with you.
Sit your free mock test
It is timed on the server like the real thing, so a refresh or a dropped connection resumes where you left off. Your band estimate is on the results page the moment you submit.
Questions
Is it really free?
A free account gives you one full mock test, five practice questions and one exercise a day, and the correct answer to everything you attempt. Paid passes remove the daily limit and add the rest of the explanations, Writing feedback and progress analytics. Nothing in signup or setup asks for a card.
Academic or General Training?
Both. You choose at setup and can practise either. Reading differs between the two, and the app keeps them apart, down to the conversion table it uses for your band.
How is a test scored?
Reading and Listening are marked against the answer key when you submit and converted to a band on the official table, the same conversion our band score calculator uses. Writing gets written feedback and no band: the app's own testing found a machine-generated Writing band too unstable to trust, so it does not give one.
Is the timing real?
Yes. A Reading test runs 60 minutes and the clock is kept on the server, so refreshing the page or losing your connection resumes the same test rather than starting a new one. In a Listening test the recording plays once, as it does on test day.
Is Speaking included?
Not yet. Speaking practice is planned and is not in the app. Until it is, the Speaking guides on this site cover the four criteria examiners score against.
What happens to my Starter Drill result?
It comes with you. Sign up after the drill and the attempt is attached to your account, so your first result is already on the dashboard.
