Here is how we make the guides and tools on Compass IELTS, and what to do if we get something wrong.
Where our facts come from
Factual claims about the test, including scoring rules, format, timing, and the differences between Academic and General Training, follow the materials published by the IELTS partners and other official sources. We link them where we use them. Our tools implement those published rules directly, and the calculations are covered by automated tests. Where something is our judgement or an estimate rather than a published rule, we say so on the page.
We stand behind what we publish
We are responsible for the accuracy of what appears on this site.
Updates and corrections
The test changes, so pages are revised when they need to be. Guides show a published date.
If you find an error, tell us. Reported errors are checked and fixed.
